The MRS Barracuda R2 is a two-person packraft without a canopy, developed with a focus on speed, efficient paddling, and range. The elongated shape and long waterline make this model particularly suitable for faster paddling in both calmer waters and rapids.

The pointed and symmetrical design, with a slight upward bow (upbow) and stern, gives the Barracuda R2 a speed and glide that many other packrafts lack. The result is a packraft that is very well suited for long-distance paddling, expedition trips, whitewater paddling, and multi-sport and adventure competitions, but which also works excellently for fishing or transport on lakes and rivers, for example.

Both seats in the MRS Barracuda R2 are equipped with comfortable backrests, providing good ergonomics even during longer paddling sessions.

The Barracuda R2 can be paddled solo with a kayak paddle, or by two paddlers with either kayak paddles or canoe paddles. For maximum flexibility, we recommend one of our multi-paddles, which are specially designed for two-person packrafts.

ISS (Internal Storage System)

The packraftcomes with apre-installed internal storage system (ISS). Thanks to awaterproof TIZIP zipper, the packraft's tubes can be used asinternal storage space, making it possible to transport large amounts of equipmentwithout taking up seating spaceor affecting the paddler's freedom of movement.

MRS usesTIZIP MasterSeal 10, the most robust chain in the TIZIP range, which ispressure tested up to 500 mbarfor maximum operational reliability and tightness.

Advantages of internal storage systems (ISS)

• All equipment packed in the ISS is keptcompletely dry.

• Packing in the tubes lowersthe center of gravity, providingincreased stabilityon the water.

• Significantlylarger packing volumecompared to the corresponding model without ISS

Things to consider

One limitation of the ISS is that the packingcannot be accessed without deflating the packraft. The system is therefore particularly well suited for transportingcamping equipmentsuch as tents, sleeping bags, and most of the food supplies for the trip.

All packraft models fromMRSare made ofurethane-coated nylon, a material that isUV-resistant, abrasion-resistant, and resistant to aging, while retaining itsflexibility even at low temperatures. The packraft is constructed with bothsewn and welded seams, providing high durability and a long service life.
