Seek Outside Cimarron 4p 2.0
The Seek Outside Cimarron 4p 2.0 is a four-season, ultralight tipi-style tent for 2-4 people with a (closable) stove jack (see our stoves). The Cimarron is built to be extremely resistant to rain, wind and snow while keeping the weight to a minimum.
The new updated 2.0 version has been marginally redesigned with slightly steeper walls than its predecessor, resulting in more usable space inside the tent. Furthermore, the new updated version is equipped with additional attachment points for storm lines, which, in addition to making the tent even more stormproof, creates additional space inside the tent. The new Cimarron 2.0 is also compatible with the newly developed Cimarron 2.0 floor system.
The Seek Outside Cimarron has 8 stake loops and external storm line attachment points to provide additional stability and create more space inside. An upper closable vent ensures good ventilation even in snow.
The tent has two entrances that allow for additional ventilation and simplify the use of the tent if more than one person is using it. The Cimarron can be erected using Seek Outside's strong but easily adjustable carbon fiber pole, a sturdy branch, or, for example, Luxe's poles which we also sell.
During the colder parts of the year, ultralight stoves are a fantastic addition to this tent. It allows for comfort and warmth even in really harsh conditions.
It is worth mentioning that the tent lacks a floor and protection from insects – so-called "screen doors" are not installed in the model we sell. If you need a floor and insect protection, you can use different types of ground sheets (footprints) and/or separate mosquito nets that are available in a variety of different variants and price ranges. We sell the inner tent Seek Outside Halv Nest, which protects against both insects and moisture from below. New is also the Cimarron 2.0 floor system, which is a custom-designed floor system for the Cimarron.
Seek Outside Cimarron is handmade in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA and has a lifetime warranty.

What is included in the purchase
- Tents

- Seam sealer
Seam sealing
Seek Outside tent seams are not factory sealed. The purchase includes SilNet Seam Sealer, which is specially made for this purpose. Seam sealing is best done by pitching the tent on a rain-free day (be sure to tension the tent tightly, so that the seams are properly tightened) and sealing all seams from the outside of the tent. In Packraft Sverige's experience, the easiest way to do this is to dilute the Seam Sealer with equal parts white spirit and brush the mixture onto the seams with a fine brush. This way the tent seams will absorb the seam sealer and become completely waterproof. It is also possible to use your finger and "brush" the Seam Sealer undiluted on the seams of the tent, but it takes longer, more seam sealer is used and it is usually not as neatly done.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
- How do you AVOID burning down your Seek Outside Cimarron with the stove burning?
- The chimney opening is made of a fiberglass material that can withstand several thousand degrees of heat. The tent material never touches the chimney. In rare cases, a spark may find its way out through the chimney and land on the tent fabric, which may cause a small hole. Such a spark hole is most easily repaired with a small dab of Seam Sealer on the hole. If there is a lot of easily flammable material under the stove, you should brush away as much as possible and supplement with, for example, a piece of aluminum foil under the stove that reflects away the heat.
- Can you really live in a tent that has no floor when it's pouring rain outside?
- Absolutely! Just make sure not to pitch the tent in depressions. The inside of the tent dries quickly, especially if you use a stove. A major advantage of floorless tents is that you don't have to take off your shoes when you go in and out. The dog can also walk in and out without you having to worry about a broken or dirty floor.
- Doesn't a single-layer tent get a lot of condensation?
- As in all other tents, condensation can form. You can minimize condensation by increasing ventilation or by using a stove, which quickly makes the condensation disappear. An inner tent also helps. Want to learn more? Read 5 Ways to Manage Condensation in Seek Outside Tents.
- Can you get carbon monoxide poisoning in a tent with a stove?
- Yes, if you don't have a ventilation opening. Seek Outside's tents have both upper ventilation and air that can enter the gap between the ground and the tent fabric. If you are still worried, you can leave a decimeter or two of one of the zippers open and you have more than enough ventilation not to worry.
- Is it possible to create even better ventilation in the tent?
- Yes, you can have the doors ajar, open the stove opening, or use a LineLoc Extension Kit.

nice tent
Stripped down and ridiculously light. My larger Tintipi has got competition. I think this will do well with a stove when spring winter hits Norrland with all its splendor. Good ventilation and passed condensation test with approval. Leaning towards becoming a new favorite among the tents.
The weight is at the bottom, fine space for 2 men and gear - maybe 3 even - the quality is top notch I think... I'm really happy with mine :)
Super happy with the tent, perfect size for me when I'm out alone but also spacious enough for me and two kids. Chose between this and silvertip. Goes super fast to set up. Surprised at how compact and light the tent is. My only minus is that you have to seal the seams yourself with the supplied means, considering the price of the tent, I think it should be done from the factory.
