Seek Outside Divide 2.0

Divide 2.0 is a very lightweight 79-liter backpack with an external frame, made of Ultra 200X™ material. In addition to being extremely light and durable, the material is also waterproof.

Seek Outside is known for making lightweight hiking backpacks that can handle heavy or extremely heavy loads, thanks to its advanced carrying system and external frame. The carrying system can handle weights of well over 50 kilograms when needed. The bags from Seek Outside are therefore not only very well suited for hiking, but also packrafting, hunting, photography and other activities where you often have to lug around extremely much stuff, but are equally suitable for light hiking with less packing thanks to the compression system.

The advantage of a backpack made of waterproof material is that the material itself does not absorb water, which means that the backpack does not increase in weight in wet conditions. Note that despite its waterproof material, the backpack is not 100% waterproof, as water can penetrate through the backpack's seams. Therefore, we always recommend packing in waterproof bags even in these backpacks.

Please note that accessories such as hip belts and pockets are sold separately.

"All of our gear uses the best fabrics and materials we can source, is made in-house by experts at their craft, and is backed by our outstanding warranty" - Seek Outside, Handmade in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA.

Design

The bag is mounted on the external frame, together with the advanced carrying system. The carrying system is adjustable and can be used by anyone with a torso length over 38 cm. The bag, frame and carrying system can be disassembled and replaced or transported separately.

The frame is delivered 24″ long, but can be adjusted with a frame extender (sold separately) to 26″ (2″ extender) or 28″ (4″ extender). The standard 24″ length works for pretty much everyone, but if you need to carry extra weight or if you have a long torso, the use of extenders may be recommended (see table below for information if you need to add extenders to your order).

For more information on how to measure your torso length, see Seek Outside's article “Which Frame Height is Right for me?“.

Example: If you have a torso length of 45 cm and plan to carry 15 kilos in the backpack, you should extend the frame with a 2″ extender so you get a 26” frame.

Torso length Carrying weight up to 13 kg Carrying weight 13-23 kg Carrying weight over 23 kg
15″-16″ (38-41 cm) 24″ 24″ 24″ or 26″ (buy 2″ extender)
17″-19″ (42-48 cm) 24″ or 26″ (buy 2″ extender) 26″ (buy 2″ extender) 26″ or 28″ (buy 2″ and/or 4″ extender)
20″+ (49 cm+) 26″ (buy 2″ extender) 26″ or 28″ (buy 2″ and/or 4″ extender) 28″ (buy 4″ extender)

The Seek Outside Divide 2.0 offers large main storage of 79 liters. In addition, there are two spacious side pockets in stretch mesh (with space for 2 nalgene bottles each), top lid (8 liters) and a rear mesh pocket in stretch mesh that holds about 10-15 liters.

Divide has a total of 9 compression straps, all of which are removable and detachable. The compression straps can also be connected together to create a longer compression strap.

The stretchy front panel is equipped with daisy chains for easy mounting of accessories via, for example, carbines.

The external patented frame is very robust and made of 6061 T6 Aluminum.

A removable "horizon cross stay" is included in the purchase. It is mounted in the back and has the function of holding the packing away from the back for significantly improved ventilation and comfort. The gram hunters leave it at home!

Material Ultra 200X™

  • Made of pure UHMWPE (ultra-high strength fiber) woven together with recycled polyester - providing both durability and eco-friendly profile

  • Fully waterproof - withstands extreme water pressure (over 200 PSI, equivalent to 140 meters depth)

  • Very durable - withstands 4400 revolutions in abrasion test (Taber test)

  • Resilient - withstands high loads:

    • 52 kg longitudinal tear strength

    • 53 kg in transverse direction

Weight, volume, max load

  • Minimum weight 1300 grams (including hip belt about 1500 grams)
  •  Volume 79 liters (not including side pockets)
      • Large storage compartment holds 79 liters
      • The large rear stretch mesh pocket holds approximately 10-15 liters.
      • Side pockets hold two Nalgene bottles each.
  • Maximum load 50 kilos + (it is you who decides how much you want to carry, not the bag).
  •  Size
    • Circumference at the opening of the bag 109 cm
    • Circumference at the bottom of the sack 107 cm
    • Fully extended length (not rolled closure) 97 cm

Rain cover / Seam sealing:

  • Seek Outside Divide 2.0 is made of Ultra 200X™ which is a waterproof material. The material is waterproof up to 200+ PSI (≈13.8 bar), which corresponds to the pressure of over 140 meters of water depth. The bag also has a waterproof roll closure. In heavy rain, water can enter in small amounts through the seams of the bag, so despite the waterproofness of the material, we recommend users to pack their gear in waterproof bags inside the backpack.
  • The storage pockets on the outside of the pack are not waterproof (they are not fully resealable).

Ok but very expensive. Leaks like a sieve unlike what affiliates said. Have seam sealed 3 times and it still leaks.

Used the backpack for only 3 days winter trip, so only give it 3 stars (a neutral rating) because I can not really give a fair assessment so far. Will try to return after used it more. + Rigid frame. Carried with ease up 15 kg. + Configurable in that you can move around straps to your liking. + Swallowed a lot of packing. We made do with the Dividen 4800, a 40 liter backpack and a smaller sled for 3 days of winter camping. We were 2 adults and 2 dogs + Comfortable carrying system. Fit my back perfectly after using the 2" frame extender. - Lower part of the frame is very exposed to hard objects. Will probably need to wrap it in a cellular plastic. - Do not like the "floating" hip belt when skiing in untracked terrain. Had a tendency to move the center of gravity far from the body when turning so you lost balance.

Have had this bag for just over two years now and use it on all my trips out, think it is fantastic. Hesitated before the price but for me it has been worth every penny, it is much more comfortable to carry heavy in than any other backpack I have tested, and swallows a small or large pack without flanging or becoming unwieldy. The fact that it can withstand a lot of rain and pure wear is also nice.

Before I bought this backpack I used a Fjällräven kayak. I bought this to reduce the weight. But at the same time I still wanted a comfortable backpack. And so far I'm really not dissatisfied. It's incredibly comfortable to wear and also easy to compress. It was also very easy to adjust.

The only bad thing about the backpack is that the top cover, hip pockets and hip belt have to be bought separately. And that everything together is quite expensive.

But it was a much better buy than the kayak!

This backpack is the best I have ever owned. Takes a little while to adjust the backpack so that it fits well 100%. When the backpack is set, you feel no weight at all on your back. Had a Fjällräven kayak 85l before this backpack and it was significantly more uncomfortable to carry. Best purchase I made. Thank you packraft Sverige for great customer service and fast delivery.
