Seek Outside Unaweep 6300

The Unaweep 6300 is a very light (about 1360 grams) and versatile backpack. The backpack is made of UltraPE 400 material, which in addition to being extremely light and durable is also waterproof. The volume is 103 liters.

Generally, other bags weighing just over a kilogram can handle up to about 10-15 kilograms of luggage. Any heavier and they will collapse or become uncomfortable to carry over longer distances. The Seek Outside Unaweep 6300 works best with packs between 15 and 25 kilograms, but has the capacity to handle up to 45 kilograms of pack if needed. The Unaweep fills the gap between outdated heavy bags with high load capacity and newer ultralight bags with too low load capacity.

Unaweep differs from other Seek Outside bags by the use of a so-called Talon (sold separately). Unaweep can be used without a talon, but comes into its own with one. The purpose of the talon is partly to create external storage space, but the talon also provides the opportunity to strap things in the space between the talon and the bag itself. This is particularly useful if you want to carry bulky equipment, such as skis, rifles, hunting gear, etc.

The advantage of a backpack made of waterproof material is that the material itself does not absorb water, which means that the backpack itself does not increase in weight in wet conditions. Please note that despite its waterproof material, the bag is not 100% waterproof, as water can penetrate through the seams of the backpack. Therefore, we always recommend that you pack in waterproof bags even in these bags.

The Seek Outside Unaweep 6300 is particularly well suited for weight-conscious hikers, pack rafters, off-piste alpinists, winter adventurers and hunters.

Design

The bag is mounted on the external frame, together with the advanced carrying system. The carrying system is adjustable and can be used by anyone with a torso length over 38 cm. The bag, frame and carrying system can be disassembled and replaced or transported separately.

The frame is delivered 24″ long, but can be adjusted with a frame extender (sold separately) to 26″ (2″ extender) or 28″ (4″ extender). The standard 24″ length works for pretty much everyone, but if you need to carry extra weight or if you have a long torso, the use of extenders may be recommended (see table below for information if you need to add extenders to your order).

Example: If you have a torso length of 45 cm and plan to carry 15 kilos in the backpack, you should extend the frame with a 2″ extender so you get a 26” frame.

Seek Outside Unaweep 6300 offers large main storage of 103 liters. In addition to this, there are two spacious side pockets (with space for 2 nalgene bottles each), top lid (8 liters) and optional talon that holds about 10-15 liters.

The backpack has a total of 9 compression straps, all of which are removable and detachable. The compression straps can also be linked together to create a longer compression strap.

The external patented frame is very robust and made of 6061 T6 Aluminum.

A removable "horizon cross stay" is included with the purchase. It is mounted in the back and has the function of keeping the pack out of the back for significantly improved ventilation and comfort. Gram hunters leave it at home!

Material

Seek Outside's backpacks are manufactured in the material UltraPE 400, which is a very light, durable and waterproof (down to 200+ PSI) material. UltraPE 400 is a UHMWPE laminate with recycled polyester. The material is extremely abrasion resistant (7600 cycles Taber) and has a high tear strength (114.5 lb Warp, 117.6 lb Fill). The color tends towards black.

Certain details in the backpack, for example the carrying system, are manufactured in a mixture of the materials Spectra and 500D Cordura. Spectra is a nylon/UHMWPE laminate that is slightly lighter and more resistant to moisture (1500 mm water column) than Cordura 500D. Cordura 500D is slightly more durable and is therefore used in, for example, side pockets where high wear occurs.

Rain cover / Seam sealing: 

• The Seek Outside Unaweep is made of UltraPE 400 which is a waterproof material. The bag also has a waterproof roll closure. In heavy rain, water can enter the bag in small amounts through the seams, so we recommend sealing the seams for an even more rainproof bag in extremely wet environments.
• Waterproof bags, "drybags", are recommended despite the pack's waterproof material when staying in extremely wet environments or if you know there is a chance that the pack will end up under the water surface.
• The storage pockets on the outside of the pack are not waterproof (they are not fully resealable).

Warranty

Seek Outside offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturing and material defects during the product's practical lifespan. Damage due to wear and tear or improper use is not covered, but can be repaired for a reasonable fee.
