Gear Aid Seam Grip Sil™ - Silicone Tent Sealant 28 g
Description
Gear Aid Seam Grip Sil™ is a silicone-based sealant/adhesive specially developed for silicone-coated fabrics and materials. If your tent, tarp or other gear is silicone coated, this is the product that really sticks and holds tight when other sealers/glues don't work. It is applied thinly over seams and transitions to prevent water penetration, and leaves a resilient, transparent and weatherproof joint.

Use & best practices
To get the best results with Seam Grip Sil, here are some recommended steps and tips:
-
Clean the surface thoroughly - make sure the material is free of dirt, dust and grease. Silicone often requires a completely clean surface to adhere properly.
-
Prepare the surface - if possible, remove old sealant or glue and wash thoroughly. Allow to dry completely.
-
Apply thinly and evenly - brush the seam sealer along joints and seams with a brush or pointed applicator, for example. Thin application gives better flexibility and faster drying time.
-
Avoid stress during curing - allow the material to cure without bending or stress for the first few hours.
-
Work at the right temperature - preferably between 15-38°C for best adhesion and curing. At lower temperatures, curing will be slower.
-
Storage - after use, close the tube tightly and store in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures to preserve product properties.
Suitable for those who ...
-
Have equipment with silicone coating - e.g. silicone tent sheets, silicone coated tarps or similar.
-
Need waterproof seam sealer that really sticks to silicone - where other glues or sealers often fail.
-
Want a transparent and flexible joint that does not become rigid or crack when the material moves.
-
Needs relatively quick drying - Seam Grip Sil can often dry within 3-6 hours under the right conditions, which is faster than many other seam sealing adhesives.
Executive summary
Gear Aid Seam Grip Sil is the obvious choice for fairly permanent seam sealing on silicone and silicone-coated materials. With its transparent finish, flexibility and weather resistance, it delivers good results when other products fail to adhere properly. A reliable solution for those who want to keep water out without compromise.
