Helaplast 2-component adhesive

Helaplast 2-component adhesive is the ultimate glue for making permanent repairs to your packraft, or for gluing on extra grab loops, fin attachments and the like.

The package is delivered with 1 jar containing 50 ml of whole plastic and a small bottle containing 10 ml of hardener. The contents of the can and bottle are enough to glue about 8 grabloops or 1 fin mount.

Please note that the jar is only filled up to about one third, however, the content is 50 ml of glue!

Instruction

It is important that you follow these instructions as closely as you can.

Carry out the repair in a temperature between 15 and 25 degrees. The glue and hardener are mixed in a 20:1 weight ratio. For example, 20 grams of glue and 1 gram of hardener. This doesn't have to be mixed exactly to the milliliter, but try to get close. A couple drops of hardener to a teaspoon of glue is okay.

Avoid contact with skin. Consider using safety glasses when gluing.

1. Wash the two surfaces you are going to glue with alcohol, such as t-red or isopropanol.
2. Lightly roughen both surfaces with a fine sandpaper.
3. Wash again with alcohol.
4. Mix the glue and hardener in a glass jar, for example. A few drops of hardener to a teaspoon of glue is usually enough.
5. Brush the solution onto both surfaces in a thin layer. Wait for about 30 minutes.
6. Brush a new thin layer on both surfaces. Wait 10 minutes until both surfaces are dry.
7. Join the surfaces together. You will have plenty of time as the surfaces will not yet stick together when dry.
8. Use a hair dryer to activate the glue and thus make the surfaces stick together. Massage the surfaces from the center outwards to avoid any air bubbles.
