Seek Outside Flight 3

Seek Outside Flight 3 is a durable, lightweight and comfortable 52-liter backpack that works well even when carrying heavier loads up to between 16 and 23 kg. The weight of the pack is approximately 1.22 kilograms.

The Flight 3 features a roll-top closure, a large front Ultra Stretch™ mesh pocket and two patented Ultra Stretch™ side water bottle pockets, which securely hold a Nalgene bottle while remaining easy to reach.

The main difference between the Flight series and Seek Outside's other backpacks is the carrying system. The carrying system on Flight 3 is lighter than on Seek Outside's larger bags, but is still adjustable and very comfortable. The carry system is redesigned from Flight 2 and is now adjustable for different back lengths. The back panel padding has been expanded for better comfort and improved ventilation while being enhanced for hiking with even heavier packs. The front pocket has been updated and is now made of super-elastic Ultra Stretch.

The bag has a newly developed "No Sag" hip belt (NOTE! Sold separately, see here) with built-in reinforcement for increased stability.

The bag is sold in two different sizes, 22 inches for shorter users and 25 inches for taller/larger users.

How to measure back length to choose the right size

The back length is measured from the C7 vertebra (the 'protruding' vertebra at the base of the neck) down the spine to an imaginary line between the iliac crests.

A typical back length for a man who is about 183 cm tall might be 43-48 cm (17-19 inches).

For a woman who is about 165 cm tall, the back length can be around 38-41 cm (15-16 inches).

Note that this varies greatly depending on body shape.

Tips on hip belt sizing

Waist belt sold separately.

Go by the size you usually wear in jeans.

Medium=29″ to 34″

Large=33″ to 38″

Choose a size larger if you often hike in winter with extra layers.

Choose a size smaller if you tend to lose weight during long summer trips.
