Seek Outside Redcliff
The Seek Outside Redcliff is an ultralight 4-season tent for six people, or 3-4 people with a stove. The Redcliff has an integrated minimalist, but well functioning, chimney/flue opening. Carbon fiber tent pole included in the price.
Basically, the Redcliff is a 1-layer floorless tent without insect protection with an opening for a chimney. The basic model can be supplemented with liners and nests to create double (triple) walls and 100% insect protection. Seek Outside Redcliff is equipped with double entrances with covered Lenzip zippers. Extremely robust ground peg loops/loops are standard. On the inside of the tent there are loops for attaching guy lines or hanging lanterns/lights and on the outside there are attachment points for storm lines which increase the tent's resistance to strong winds as well as increasing the internal volume. We also sell Seek Outsides stoves.
The Seek Outside Redcliff is a hybrid between the mid (pyramid) and tipi tent types. The advantage of a mid/tipi mix is that the tent pitches much faster than a regular tipi, while the angle of the side panels is optimal for water drainage and to avoid snow accumulation, which can often be a problem in regular pyramid tents. The Redcliff is a tent that can handle really tough weather.
The tent has a symmetrical profile and is equipped with a 15 cm high snow skirt at the bottom, which makes it possible to completely exclude drifting snow, sand and cold winds. Using the snow skirt increases the risk of condensation, which is effectively countered by the use of a lightweight stove.
Seek Outside Redcliff is excellent as a base camp for longer fishing or hunting trips in all seasons, or as a group tent for hikes and expeditions.
All our Seek Outside products are handcrafted in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA and come with a lifetime warranty.

- Tents
- 12 tent pegs
- Seam sealer
- Carbon fiber tent pole
Seam sealing
Seek Outside tent seams are not factory sealed. The purchase includes SilNet Seam Sealer, which is specially made for this purpose. Seam sealing is best done by pitching the tent on a rain-free day (be sure to tension the tent tightly, so that the seams are properly tightened) and sealing all seams from the outside of the tent. In our experience, the easiest way to do this is to dilute the Seam Sealer with equal parts white spirit and brush the seams with a fine brush. This way the tent seams will absorb the seam sealer and become completely waterproof. It is also possible to use your finger and "brush" the Seam Sealer undiluted onto the seams of the tent, but this takes longer and uses more seam sealer.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do you AVOID burning down your Seek Outside Cimarron with the stove burning?
- The opening for the chimney is made of a fiberglass material that can withstand several thousand degrees of heat. The tent material never touches the chimney. In rare cases, a spark may find its way out through the chimney and land on the canvas, causing a small hole. The easiest way to repair such a spark hole is to apply a small amount of Seam Sealer to the hole. If there is a lot of flammable material under the stove, you should brush off as much as possible, or put a piece of aluminum foil under the stove to reflect the heat away.
- Can you really have a tent without a floor in bad weather?
- Absolutely! Just make sure not to pitch the tent in depressions. The inside of the tent dries quickly, especially if you use a stove. A major advantage of floorless tents is that you don't have to take off your shoes when you go in and out. The dog can also walk in and out without you having to worry about a broken or dirty floor.
- Doesn't a single-layer tent get a lot of condensation?
- As in any other tent, condensation can form. You can minimize condensation by increasing ventilation, using liners or using a stove, which will quickly dissipate the condensation. Want to learn more? Read 5 Ways to Manage Condensation in Seek Outside Tents.
- Can you get carbon monoxide poisoning in a tent with a stove?
- Yes, if you don't have a ventilation opening. Seek Outside's tents have both upper ventilation and air that can enter the gap between the ground and the tent fabric. If you are still worried, you can leave a decimeter or two of one of the zippers open and you have more than enough ventilation not to worry.

Great service. The tent met my expectations together with the Winnerwell stove. Awesome combo.
Then you have "test driven" Redcliff for the first time! Tried two days out in the wilderness before the Christmas celebrations started. The first thing that struck me was the weight and how packable it is, after all very much tent for the low weight. Perhaps the biggest plus is how extremely easy it is to put up and take down, I recommend watching Seek Outsides (SO) own video on YT, easy peasy! At first I read the instructions that came with it but that only applied to the Tipi tents which are slightly more cumbersome, the "mid" tents are really easy to handle! I have not yet used the supplied sealant, even though it snowed I experienced no problems, of course condensation forms but that is to be expected and caused no problems as it runs down the tent wall and does not drip. Do I have anything negative to say? Not really except that based on my preferences and area of use, I cannot agree with SO on their recommendation for the number of people in the tent. Personally, winter camping involves some extra equipment, e.g. folding chair, bed and stove. Based on this, I think two people is the ultimate, ie. A lot of equipment and use of the tent when the sun hours are few, which means more time spent in the tent. So a little more comfortable living. If it is only Ultralight focus and the tent is only used to sleep in, then their recommendation is certainly true. Before purchasing the tent I had heard very good things about the service from this store and can only say that the delivery was very fast. In conclusion, I just want to say that I am totally sold on winter tenting with a stove, how cozy as possible if you are not too comfortable!
