Viking raft fin / skeg

A packraft fin that makes a big difference when paddling on lakes, calm rivers, and other open waters. The fin helps the packraft stay on course better, which means you’ll need to make fewer corrective paddle strokes and can paddle both more comfortably and more efficiently.

This fin attaches easily to a compatible fin mount (Vikingraft fin mount) and can be removed in a matter of seconds when you don’t need it. Perfect for longer trips on calm water where a straight course and good directional stability are more important than maximum maneuverability.

The mount and fin can be used together on any vehicle. The mount is glued in place with Helaplast.

Things to Keep in Mind

A skeg slightly increases the packraft's draft. It should therefore be removed when paddling in very shallow water or rapids, where it risks hitting the bottom or getting stuck.
